The tramp took FLTLT Mackle, FGOFF Epsom, PLTOFF Harris, U/O Price, W/O Judge 3 hours to complete including lunch to get to the hut.  From there, packs were left and day packs taken to the top of the Pinnacles (1 hour).  The view was worth it.

The hut is one of the best in the country with full cooking facilities and room for 80 people.  There are camping areas as well.  A refreshing swim in the river was well received by all.

The tramp out on the Billy Goat Track also took 3 hours with totally spectacular views en route.  We went to Hoffmans Pool afterwards and jumped off the platforms into the water which was at least 6m deep - great fun.

This tramp will replace the Whatipu Tramp for Proficiency and Advanced Flights in February, and is easily as good if not a better experience.
